Recall of Ranitidine

On April 1, 2020, the FDA recalled many ranitidine products, including its name brand product, Zantac.

The FDA determined that these products contained carcinogen levels more than 3,000 times the levels that are considered to be safe for human consumption.

Sanofi-Aventis, the producers of the brand-name Zantac, had begun recalling products in October of 2019. 

Generic manufacturers were ahead of Sanofi-Aventis in performing recalls.
